Pepcid Pregnancy

is it ok to take pepcid complete during pregnancy? i'm 30 weeks pregnant and have HORRIBLE heartburn?

Question: tums dont help me anymore unfortunately. i've called my dr about so many other things and they are probably tired of hearing from me lol. i have a dr appt in a few days so i'll ask them then. thanks everyone

Answer: Absolutely, it's prescribed all the time after the first trimester. Ask your MD; it's much cheaper to fill a prescription for this if you have insurance. Also, Pepcid works fairly well, but Prilosec is available over the counter as well and works by a different mechanism. It's also very safe and generally considered much more effective. Hope that helps; I know how bad acid reflux can be!

Pepcid during early stages of pregnancy, is it safe?

Question: I just received AI yesterday...i usually take a pepcid every morning....should i continue to do this...i dont want to mess up anything...

Answer: Talk to your doctor and ask him specifically. You've gone through alot presumably to get to this point, why risk anything? Personally, when I found out I was pregnant I stopped taking any form of medication, even those that the dr said were safe. Its your choice tho.

Heartburn during pregnancy and Pepcid AC ...?

Question: I tried Rolaid, Tums, Mylanta...nothing worked. So, my nurse practitioner recommended Pepcid. Is there a difference between Pepcid and Pepcid AC? I have been taking these for 3 days at 12 hour intervals, and am worried that it might harm the fetus in some way. However, if I don't take them, my heartburn just about puts me on bed rest. I am in my 9th week.

Answer: i took pepcid ac but u should ask ur doctor on tues about how long u can take them for or if they can write u a perscription of something safe that u can take until it gets all better
